Overview

The United States Department of Defense (DoD) is aiming to reduce the estimated $600 billion in cybercrime losses impacting the nation’s military supply chain every year by requiring third-party cyber security assessments of contractors with access to controlled unclassified information (CUI). Thus, the DoD adopted the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) for its 300,000 Defense Industrial Base (DIB) contractors to meet varying levels of CMMC certification as a requirement for the DoD to award a contract.

Redspin is a division of Clearwater and focuses on meeting the needs of the DIB (Defense Industrial Base) and improving the cyber readiness and resiliency of DIB organizations to minimize cyber risks and protect sensitive information. Redspin, the first organization authorized as a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) and leading cybersecurity services organization offers testing, assessments, validation, and consulting services for the healthcare industry and other heavily regulated industries, including the DIB.

CMMC recognizes security is not one size fits all, therefore the level an organization must meet is determined based on the type and sensitivity of the information to be protected and the range of threats. Redspin, an approved CMMC Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) and Registered Provider Organization (RPO) aims to help defense contractors assess or build the cyber hygiene needed to maintain and protect national cyber defense.

How we are different

Since 2001, Redspin’s team of experts – many of whom have served as CISOs, CIOS, Compliance and Privacy Officers, and are military Veterans have worked with many of the leading Fortune 500 companies, and organizations in highly regulated industries.

From the beginning, our team has worked with the CMMC Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB) to help improve the Defense Industrial base ecosystem, by helping organizations achieve compliance that supports the CMMC initiative. As the official first Authorized Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (CMMC – C3PAO), and first chosen to conduct a Joint Surveillance Voluntary Assessment Program (JSVAP) certification Redspin leads the way in experience, and intimately understands the process, sense of urgency, and importance of good cyber hygiene.

Redspin's approach to CMMC training, assessment, validation, and consulting services is highly collaborative. Redspin works closely with clients to understand their unique needs and tailor solutions that fit their specific requirements. The training programs they offer aim to educate and empower clients to better understand and meet the requirements of the CMMC framework. Their assessments provide a thorough evaluation of an organization's current cybersecurity posture, and the validation process helps clients ensure that their systems are fully compliant with CMMC standards. Finally, the consulting services provided by Redspin help organizations make informed decisions about their cybersecurity strategies and implement best practices that are aligned with the CMMC framework. This collaborative approach ensures clients receive customized solutions that address their specific needs and that they are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing cybersecurity landscape, and ensure our Nation’s CUI remains protected.
