I’ve been educated, mentored, and influenced by Dr. Conklin for many years and I consider him to be an educator of students in not only in Cybersecurity, but also someone who challenges his students to think, above all. We both were former sailors and I consider him the epitome of what military service, valor, and distinction. I whole hearted support Dr. Conklin for this nomination!

An ounce of education is worth a pound of remediation. Art is a force for good in the universe and working on The Number One Security Problem – which is improving education to ensure that designers, builders and users of IT systems understand that systems will be attacked, so they must be designed, built, and deployed accordingly. I can’t think of anybody who is more worthy of recognition for his stellar and oh-so-needed efforts.

I’ve worked with Dr. Conklin as his research administrator, and I can say he holds himself to the highest standards. He is passionate about producing excellent security professionals, and he also has the very endearing quality of treating everyone with respect and dignity.

Art has a sharp focus on education in order to prepare any content to the students (in classroom and professional settings) in the most applied fashion possible. That’s what makes him excellent in security education – the more we see and experience the implications of security policies the better we understand.
