This Cybersecurity Excellence Awards category covers teams that audit security controls and check that organizations meet their security obligations. New nominations in this area are entered in Cybersecurity Audit Professional of the Year or Cybersecurity Team of the Year.
The Cybersecurity Audit Team of the Year category covers internal and external audit teams that review security controls, test compliance with frameworks and regulations, and report findings that leaders act on.

An individual auditor is nominated in Cybersecurity Audit Professional of the Year, and the audit team as a whole in Cybersecurity Team of the Year. A team whose work centers on a compliance program can also enter Best Risk and Compliance Program.
The categories below cover this area. Each is judged separately, so a nominee can enter every one that fits, with a separate nomination for each.
Nominations in the categories above are scored by an independent jury of security practitioners, analysts and CISOs on leadership, innovation and impact. Each competes against peers in a similar role and region. Entry packages, sponsorship and public votes do not affect the jury's scores.
The jury awards Gold, Silver or Bronze, or a Finalist badge, and results are published on this site and announced to the 600,000+ member Cybersecurity Insiders community. Every approved nomination also enters the separate Community Choice award, decided by public votes.
New nominations in this area are entered in Cybersecurity Audit Professional of the Year or Cybersecurity Team of the Year.
