About the Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) category
What belongs in this category
The Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) category covers products that enroll, configure and secure every kind of device an organization uses: laptops, desktops, phones, tablets and rugged or shared devices. Typical entries push settings and security policy, deploy and update apps, separate work and personal data, check compliance before granting access, and lock or wipe lost devices. Mobile device management products enter here.
Protecting phones from threats fits Mobile Security, and deploying patches across devices fits Patch and Configuration Management. Endpoint protection for computers fits Endpoint Security, the broad endpoint category, which a UEM product can also enter.

Each category is judged separately, so you can enter a product in every category that matches what it does, with a separate nomination for each. Tailor each nomination to that category's focus. Entering several related categories gives the product more than one chance to be recognized.
How entries are judged
An independent jury of security practitioners, analysts and CISOs scores each nomination on leadership, innovation and impact. Each nomination competes in its category against organizations of similar size and region, so a mid-sized firm is not ranked against a global enterprise. Your entry package, any sponsorship and public votes do not affect the jury's scores.
Strong entries in this category show:
- Leadership — the devices the product manages: endpoints enrolled, operating systems and device types supported, and customers that run their device fleet on it.
- Innovation — a device management problem solved in a new way, such as setting up new devices with no hands-on work by IT, one policy across every operating system, or compliance checks that feed access decisions in real time.
- Impact — results for customers: time to set up a new device, devices out of compliance, tools consolidated, lost-device incidents handled. Give before-and-after figures.
The jury awards Gold, Silver or Bronze, or a Finalist badge, and results are published on this site and announced to the 600,000+ member Cybersecurity Insiders community. Every approved nomination also enters the separate Community Choice award, decided by public votes.
